Some general fitness tips

In this post, I will share with you all tips about how to maintain a healthy physique.  There is a way to stay fit in college and still go out and have a fun time.
  • Drink a lot of water everyday!!
  • Aim to work out at least 4-5 times a week for about an hour
    • weight-bearing exercises are great for building healthy muscles, weight loss, and keeping that metabolism up
      • weights with ab exercises
      • weights with arm reps
        • ladies- you don't need to use more than 10-15 lb weights
        • it's more about the reps, rather than the lbs
        • the more weight you use may bulk up areas that you wish to keep slim
    • cardio is great for your heart as well as keeping your metabolism going
  • Diet is key! Keep in mind all of the tips and meal ideas I've been posting about
    • I can't stress how important eating a well balanced, healthy diet is for keeping a slim, toned body
  • Eating your meal after you work out is the best because your metabolism is up from the exercise and will begin to burn the food as you eat it
I will post specific exercises targeting different areas that have worked for both me and my friends so keep checking back with me! Any questions, concerns, comments, or request a topic for me to post about let me know!

  1. I love fitness but I hate how my legs and arms are bigger. I feel like some of this is due to the fact that I work out a lot. How can i keep fit without being too muscular? (I'm naturally bigger boned)

    1. I completely understand your frustration about becoming too big or too muscular. This is where diet comes into play. Eating tons of fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats and proteins, etc will help keep your muscle tone and a trim figure at the same time. There are also certain exercises that tend to bulk up girls' bodies. I will be posting different lengthening exercises you can do later on this week and well as what not to do. With a good combination of eating right and working out, you'll see results within a couple months. Everyone's body is different, but everyone can have the best body for their own body. Stay tuned and I'll share with you some of my secrets that have saved me. I'm going to post soon about stretching as well because it is one of the most important things you can do for your body physically and mentally. It also aids in weight loss

  2. Is there any way to control where added weight goes? For example I need to lose weight in my stomach but need some more on my thighs.

    1. While not everyone gains weight in the same areas, there are exercises you can do in order to target specific areas. Diet, again, will also help with this. I am someone who has to constantly work hard to keep my legs trim and toned because my legs are pretty athletic, but it can be done and diet for me, has played a huge role in changing my body.

    2. you should do a page on what excercises work for what body
